‘Le regard de Charles’ presents for the first time to the general public the images filmed by the artist throughout his life. In 1948, Edith Piaf gave Charles Aznavour his first camera, a bawdy one that would never leave his side. Until 1982, Charles would film hours of film that would form the corpus of his filmed diary. Aznavour films his life and lives as he films. Everywhere he goes, his camera is there, with him. It records everything. The moments of life, the places he passes through, his friends, his loves, his troubles. A few months before his death, he began with Marc di Domenico the rough cut of his films. He then decided to make a film, his film. The film’s voiceover (that of Romain Duris) is an adaptation of the writings, interviews and personal notes of Charles Aznavour.
