Ed Sheeran – ÷ (Divide) – CD

The British hit machine is back
Why not go out on a limb if it’s worth it? That’s probably what Ed Sheeran thought, too, and on January 6, 2017, he released two songs as heralds for his new album.

“÷” (Divide) is the name of the British singer-songwriter’s now third record, with which he once again indulges his penchant for mathematical operators in the album title after “+” and “x.”

The singles in question, in turn, are called “Shape Of You” and “Castle On The Hill” and clearly show that Sheeran is still the old hit machine. Both songs entered the UK charts at number one and two – for the very first time in British music history.

And the chances that the remaining ten songs on “÷” (Divide) have similar hit potential are not bad either. In any case, the musician has had enough inspiration lately, because in 2016 he allowed himself time off from the stage, from the media and from his accounts in the social media to travel the whole world. It wasn’t until the fall that he went back into the studio, where the new album was created.

In addition to the standard CD, “÷” (Divide) is also available as a deluxe version with four additional songs as well as a deluxe double LP, also with the bonus tracks.

Ed Sheeran is back from his sabbatical and ready to break all records. “÷” (Divide) definitely has the potential to do so.
