Lucas Jussen & Arthur Jussen – Cantus / Reve / Peer Gynt – CD

Lucas and Arthur Jussen are among the most sought after piano duos of our time. Thanks to their international career, the Dutch siblings are now considered the big figureheads of classical music in their home country.

Her latest publication Cantus/Rêve/Peer Gynt is now the culmination of her work of recent years: it combines the two albums “Cantus” – with compositions by Brahms, Bach and Arvo Pärt – and “Rêve” – with pieces by Debussy, Hahn and Koechlin – now with the last part of the trilogy: Peer Gynt. The music that Grieg wrote for the Norwegian play around 1876 is now more famous than the piece itself – which is why the composer finally adapted the accompanying music to two orchestral suites, which can be performed in concert halls without stage production. Later, he also arranged these suites for piano four hands – the version Lucas and Arthur Jussen play on this release.

Highlights of their filled concert calendar 2025/26 include performances with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, Dresden Philharmonic, as well as a subsequent European tour with the Gewandhaus Orchestra.
