Status Quo – Hello – CD

‘Hello’ is perhaps the quintessential Quo album. Having ditched any semblance of psychedelia the Quo formula was firmly set from here on. Full on rock and roll boogie, a hint of blues here and there and the occasional slower number to give a bit of a break to the almost relentless guitar attack. ‘Hello’ actually does deliver a fairly varied set and includes at least three Quo classics that stayed in their live repertoire for years. ‘Roll Over Lay Down’ is a grinding band composition, ‘Caroline’ is their first top five single and ‘Forty Five Hundred’. Eight tracks in all, intense, exhilarating, sweaty and helluva lot of fun.
