The film Mamma Mia (starring Meryl Streep) was a huge success in theaters in 2008 (grossing $600 million, 1.6 million admissions in France). 10 years later, here is my second installment, with the paradise island of Kalokairi (Greece) as a backdrop for a new musical film based on the songs of Abba. The previous soundtrack sold more than 7 million copies worldwide and was certified platinum in France. It has also generated more than 400 million streams to date. The original cast of the film returns, accompanied by new characters played by Julie Walters, Alexa Davies, Christine Baranski, and the presence of Cher as a special guest. This film, which is a prequel (we go back before episode 1), has the heroine, Sophie, who is having trouble managing her pregnancy, finding comfort in her mother Donna’s friends, who advise her to follow Donna’s path. Of course, she will continue to learn many things about her mother’s youth.
