Kenny Dorham – The Complete ‘Round Midnight At The Cafe Bohemia – CD

As a founding member of the Jazz Messengers, the trumpeter Kenny Dorham was present in November 1955, when the drummer Art Blakey made groundbreaking live recordings for Blue Note Records with the band at Café Bohemia. Just six months later, Dorham returned to the famous New York jazz club with his own sextet to record his first own, sublime live album for the label. Of the over two-hour appearance, however, Blue Note released only one LP with six pieces in 1956. In the “Tone Poet” series, the complete recordings (with 17 tracks!)
